Metal flakes are a true automotive flake, designed for exterior application, cut from metallized polyester film brilliant, transparent, light fast, water and solvent resistant.
The most common sizes of metal flakes used in auto paint is .008" and below.008" is about 203.2 microns. Micro glitter is .004" or 101.6 microns.
Basically micron size is referring to the size of the particles in the powder. The smaller the particle, the smoother the finish and the better the coverage. As the particle size goes up, so does the luster and the coverage is lessened.
ADVANTAGES
Keep in mind that this is a flake or glitter. It is not a pigment and will not make a solid color change paint. It is glitter that gives a three color sparkle at different angles.
