They were part of the 80s and 90s family. Wherever you go, there is a carriage carrying the children to their destination. But with the arrival of the SUV, the manor seems to have gone to a waste dump. Fortunately, Mazda is realizing its dream with the 2021 Mazda6 GT SP.

This is your favorite station wagon nostalgia when you grow up, and adds refined and energetic performance. Its sleek design resembles a bullet, with a soft contour from the tip to the tail. From the chrome grille to the black 19-inch alloy, they are all sports GTs.

The sporty and stylish rails on the roof keep the station wagon practical. The only label must be publicly pressed to unlock the button on the door. The rear of the Mazda6 GT SP station wagon is as strong as the front, with subtle spoilers and chrome finishes throughout the trunk line.

The reversing camera is visible, which is a shame. We prefer hidden varieties. In addition, when the seat is up, the cargo capacity is 474 liters, and when the second discharge is down, it is 1,648 liters.

We tested this by adding luster to a local hardware store and loading a full-size balcony storage stool (flat pack), three bags of garden mix and several potted plants during a trip. It's impressive to say the least.

Practicality is one thing, but the cabin of the Mazda 6 is also a beautiful space, with magnificent burgundy leather seats, and contrasting black highlights on the dashboard and steering wheel. It matches beautifully.

The seats are beautiful and comfortable, with 10-way electric adjustment for the driver and 6-way electric adjustment for passengers. Both are heated, as are the rear seats, which means everyone can stay warm on cold winter mornings.

The two cup holders can also be closed when not in use to keep the cabin tidy. The only thing missing is a skylight. There is an 8.0-inch infotainment system in the center of the dashboard.

We are a bit at a loss for this product, because the operating system looks cumbersome and outdated, and the screen itself can be bigger and more stylish. Fortunately, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard configurations, and we did not waste time connecting to the phone.

The phone is hidden in the compartment behind the cup holder, but it fits our iPhone 12 Pro very well. The hidden space also contains two USB ports, a 3.5 mm auxiliary input jack, an SD card reader and a 12-volt power outlet.

You will also find the other two in the cargo area. The Bacon that saved the Mazda 6 is a premium Bose 231-watt sound system with 11 speakers and amplifiers. This is simply awesome.

The scope of driver assistance systems is also worth noting, including intelligent speed assist, lane keeping and lane departure warning, emergency brake assist and forward obstacle warning. There are also many airbags in the 2021 Mazda6 SP GT SP station wagon.

Child restraint facilities include two ISOFIX and three top tether fixing points, and have a 5-star ANCAP safety rating. The Mazda6 GT SP wagon also punched under the hood.

The 2.5-liter inline 4-cylinder turbocharged engine can output up to 170 kilowatts of power and 420 Nm of torque. All of this power is provided by Mazda's Skyactiv-Drive 6-speed automatic transmission.

It must be fast, and for a moment, you won't believe that you are in a carriage. The handling is similar to that of a car, with a front MacPherson strut suspension and a rear multi-link suspension. There is also a slight lean when turning or maneuvering quickly.

On long open roads, it is super fuel-efficient, and Mazda claims 7.6 liters/100 kilometers. During the test, we managed 10.1 liters/100 kilometers in mainly urban driving and some highway driving.

Mazda6 is a good choice for modern family wagons or those who can use extra space. It has a great impact on the pedals, but it is comfortable and elegant in the cabin. It provides a 5-year unlimited kilometers warranty and 5-year roadside assistance.

2021 Mazda6 GT SP has a variety of colors to choose from, such as machine gray metallic, soul red crystal metallic, sonic silver metallic, multi-metallic gray metallic, blue reflective mica, ink black mica, snowflake white pearl mica and deep Crystal blue mica.

Its suggested retail price is US$52,592, plus on-road fees, which is a bit high. You can build your own 2021 Mazda6 GT SP on the Mazda website and set a price for it, but we think it’s worth buying a better price from a dealer.

Or, you can check platforms such as PriceMyCar to get the best price.
