Five cosmetic ingredients that can hurt you

When you buy cosmetics or skin care products, it is important to pay attention to ingredients that may do more harm than good. These five you need to be vigilant

Talc is a naturally occurring mineral composed of magnesium, hydrogen, oxygen and silicon, which combine to form the so-called anhydrous (non-aqueous) magnesium silicate.

Talc is usually the main ingredient of loose and pressed pressed powders and foundations. Talc is also used in some liquid foundations and concealers. It increases opacity and helps the texture of makeup.

Since the 1970s, whether talc contains asbestos fiber has been a concern. Inhalation of asbestos fiber poses a serious threat to lung health. Another problem is that talc can clog pores, congest the skin and cause acne outbreaks, pimples and infections.

There are many safe alternatives such as corn starch, rice flour and mica, so please look for these on the label.

All Issada products are free of talc.

Lead is a neurotoxin associated with learning, language, and behavior problems. It can also cause reproductive and hormonal problems in men and women.

Unfortunately, the analysis continues to reveal that many popular lipstick brands have lead levels that exceed the allowable limit (varies from country to country, but most studies are based in the United States).

If you use this method every day, imagine the amount of lead exposure you are absorbing or ingesting.

Lead is not listed in the composition because it is considered an "impurity." I suggest you search for the brand you want to buy on Google (remember that the lead content may vary depending on the color of the brand) to see which ones are considered safe.

Issada is formulated without lead-based ingredients.

Parabens are common preservatives in cosmetics and skin care products. If the product contains water, it is likely to contain parabens to prevent the growth of bacteria.

Examples include: methyl paraben, propyl paraben, isopropyl paraben, and isobutyl paraben. Parabens are known endocrine disruptors, which means they mimic estrogen in the body and can cause hormonal imbalances. There are also studies linking parabens to breast cancer.

When possible, we avoid the use of parabens in our products.

Toluene is a chemical commonly found in nail polish and hair dye. It is a volatile petrochemical solvent that may be toxic to the immune system and may cause birth defects.

If you are pregnant, be especially careful and avoid nail polishes that contain toluene completely.

5 pieces of Issada Salon Professional Nail Art Collection are free. The formula does not contain formaldehyde/formaldehyde resin, does not contain toluene, does not contain dibutyl phthalate (DBP), does not contain camphor, and does not contain talc.

Perfumes and perfumes are very complicated, and people have a lot of confusion about their safety. Some artificial fragrances contain harsh chemicals related to asthma and allergies. In fact, perfume is listed as one of the top five allergens in the world.

However, many highly refined perfumes are considered non-allergenic and safe. Therefore, it is important to investigate the perfumes used in cosmetics so that you can choose products that only contain high-quality natural fragrances.

Perhaps the most interesting natural substance used in perfumes is ambergris-a substance excreted by certain sperm whales.

Traditionally used as a fixative to extend fragrance stability, genes from balsam fir are now found to be a good, plant-derived, cheaper and more sustainable alternative.

This is good news because Australia has banned the import and export of ambergris for commercial purposes since 1999.

Many people believe that natural essential oils are safer than synthetic fragrances, but this is not always the case. People are sensitive to natural oils, especially citrus oils, which is very common because they are overused in skin products.

At Issada, we have a policy of avoiding the use of perfumes when needed and using perfumes that are least irritating.

The important thing is to let yourself know what the makeup on your face is. More importantly, teach your children to be discerning in what they buy.

Look for brands that make cosmetics in an ethical way, and don’t be afraid to email them and ask what their products are.

At Issada, our spirit is to provide ethical, natural and harmless ingredients that are as effective as (or generally more) the results you will get.
