Rolls-Royce unveiled the second Boat Tail at the Concourse d'Eleganza, Villa d'Este 2022, on the shores of Lake Como in northern Italy.

The price tag for the second example is unknown, but the Boat Tail belongs to a wealthy patron involved in the pearling industry, built as a homage to his father and family heritage.

The client even presented Rolls-Royce Coach builder Designers with a selection of four pearl shells, which served as inspiration for the car’s exterior color.

As the client willed, the exterior of this Rolls-Royce Boat Tail blends oyster and soft rose, with large white and bronze mica flakes.

Creating a beautiful contrast, the cognac-colored hood feature fine bronze and gold-colored aluminum mica flakes, with a layer of crystal and iced matte clear coat.

The car’s technical fiber lower sills feature a rose gold woven thread.

Rolls-Royce hand-built all sections of the Boat Tail, crafting body panels from single sheets of aluminum to create an outline that takes inspiration from the racing yachts of the early 20th century.

The carmaker fashioned the Spirit of Ecstasy in rose gold, and milled the Pantheon Grille from a single, solid billet of aluminum.

Housing the Boat Tail's distinct butterfly-design hosting suite, the wooden rear deck features Royal Walnut veneer, as inlaid with rose gold-plated pinstripes with a satin-brushed finish.

Inside, the Boat Tail employs cognac and oyster-colored leathers as well as Royal Walnut veneer, complemented with rose gold and mother-of-pearl accents throughout.

Rolls-Royce crafted the transmission tunnel from Royal Walnut veneer, as graced with rose gold pinstripes.

The dashboard features a timepiece made from mother-of-pearl supplied by the client from his own collection.

This precious pearl also adorns the car’s control switches and instrument dials.
